Ontario established the first Children's Aid Society and passed the Child Protection Act, making child abuse an indictable offence and promoting foster care.
Abuse Prevention Program
The Protective Behaviours program originated during the 1970s. It is now widely used in Australia, the UK, and South Africa by various agencies.
